His work focuses on how AI-specialized hardware could be overseen, to enable countries to cooperate on the world’s most severe AI security risks.
Mauricio holds a Master’s degree in computer science and a Bachelor’s degree in mathematical and computational science, both from Stanford University. Before starting his doctorate, he spent two years at RAND and previously contracted with OpenAI’s Policy Research team.
