Her research focuses on developing the technical tools and standards needed to support effective AI governance, for instance through post-deployment monitoring, incident tracking, and evaluation frameworks for GPAI systems. Her work has been published at leading machine learning venues including ICML and NeurIPS.
Prior to joining the EU AI Office, Lisa was Acting Head of Technical AI Governance at interface, a European tech policy think tank, and a Visiting Researcher at Stanford’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory. She has held research fellowships at the RAND Corporation and the Centre for the Governance of AI, and co-organized the inaugural Workshop on Technical AI Governance at ICML.
Earlier in her career, Lisa worked as a Strategy Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and led a global health NGO in Ethiopia. She holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics, where she studied comparative transatlantic approaches to technology regulation and competition law.
