Joslyn works on the governance of emerging technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence. She is a Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind working on frontier AI safety and governance.

Prior to Google DeepMind, Joslyn was Associate Professor of Government at Wesleyan University and faculty at University of California Santa Barbara focusing on international relations.

Her research has also addressed foreign policy and public opinion, nationalism and war.  Her recent book, The Suffragist Peace: How Women Shape the Politics of War, is available now with Oxford University Press.  My first book, The Consequences of Humiliation: Anger and Status  in World Politics, was published by Cornell University Press in 2020.
