Daniel Reuter is a scholar in the ML Alignment, Transparency, and Security (MATS) program. He is studying protocols by which datacenters can demonstrate compliance with international agreements on AI development, while guaranteeing the confidentiality of their models, code, and data.

Before transitioning into computer science, Daniel did research in empirical economics at Harvard’s Opportunity Insights, at Columbia Business School with Joseph Stiglitz, and at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Columbia University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
