Over the past decade, he has worked across government, technology and academia to strengthen AI governance and online safety through more rigorous evaluations, responsive safeguards, and international standards setting. He has advised frontier AI labs, social media platforms, AI safety institutes, governments, intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and international prosecutors on emerging technology and global security threats.
Broderick serves on the Board of Advisors for American University’s Repository for Open Source Intelligence, and has previously held fellowships with the United Nations, University of Cambridge, and the Aspen Institute. His research and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, and The Guardian. He frequently provides expert analysis for international broadcasters including the BBC, PBS, CBC, ABC News, Good Morning America, France24, and Al Jazeera.
